Urban Environment...

I began by getting photos from the internet of the some of the bulidings in Limerick that were reflected in the River Shannon as I did not have my hands on a camera just yet...I was really interested in the shapes and symmetry created by these urban structures  as they were mirrored by their natural surroundings...
As you can see I am not trying to replicate these buildings and reflections at all, what I am really interested in and enjoying is just playing around with there shapes and also the negative spaces created by these images..:)



THE CEMENT FACTORY.....
The old cement factory is a structure which  has really interested me the last couple of years...ya it's a fair old trek if you were to walk because it's literally the VERRRY end of the dock road,ages past dolans!! I really like this massive old stucture because there is so many different parts,shapes and sizes to it ...sooooo,ya I did some studies of its different shapes by cutting up my photos and the likes...

I love how by manipulating an image it can begin to resemble something completely different... like I think the above cut out looks a bit like a scarecrow?? maybe??

The last photo I posted up there is probably my favourite of the photos I took of the cement factory..
I think its very pretty how the sun set shine through the small cracks of the giant structure and through nearby bushes, adding a contrasting delicacy the structure...:)

Urban shapes and symmetry

Ok I'm not very sure yet how this is going to go!! So at the moment I'm really interested in the symmetry created by the river Shannon reflecting the buildings of Limerick...I'm also looking at the old cement factory on the Dock Road,I think the shapes of all it's sections are really interesting because they are all really big and falling apart!It also kind of looks like the factory is on fire when the sun sets behind it which I think looks really pretty!!
